Description: Pune HO is the oldest building in Pune District and is from British Regime. It was constructed in the year 1913. It was constructed with architectural design prevailing in early 20th Century. It has been declared as a heritage building under Dte. New Delhi Memo No.11-35/96-Bldg dated 18-2-97. At the entrance, near garden, there are two stones for tying of elephants in British regime. The wall of the bulding are of stone masonary construction. In those days of British regime, distance of any place from Pune was being measured from a stone called "ZERO MILE STONE" which still remained fixed in the compound wall at front side of the building. It is a prominent departmental building holding a status of biggest HO in Pune Region. It is locally called as GPO Pune. Address is 1, Finance Road Pune 411001. It is also identified as "Protected Building"vide City Engineer PMC, Pune-5 vide this letter No. CEO/148 dated 7-5-2000 under Maharashtra town Planning Act 1966 clause 22.
