Due to this, the water resources of the time increased significantly. When Ghazni attacked Somnath, King Bhoj counter-attacked Ghaznavi in ​​1026 AD, forcing him to flee. Bhoj also allied with Hindu kings and avenged the insult of the Somnath temple by defeating Ghaznavi's son in Bahraich. After this, He rebuilt the Kedarnath Temple and built many other temples including the Bhojpur temple near Bhopal, Somnath temple near Malwa, and Bhojshala Saraswati temple in Dhar. Between 1026 and 1054. His victory over the Turks is recorded in the 'Kodanda Kavya' and confirmed by archaeologists. In the last years of his reign, Raja Bhoj had to face the ignominy of defeat. The combined forces of many kings defeated Raja Bhoj around 1060 AD and he died soon after. Since then, the city remained under the rule of many rulers and later during the British period, it was part of the Bhopal state, which was ruled by the Nawabs of Bhopal till 1947.
