Description: Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) is a business school. Which is the most prominent among the major Indian Management Institutes of India. The Campus of IIM Ahmedabad is located on 102 acres in the Vastrapur area in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Which is known as the world's Best and leading Business Management Institute. In the 1950s, the Government of India had planned to establish a National Institute on Management Education. Then the Ford Foundation also gave its support to help in this plan. In 1959, the University of California, Los Angeles was also in favour of the creation of a management course in India. Dr Vikram A. Sarabhai (Space Scientist) also had a dream to establish a Management Institute in India, then he took the help of local Industrialists to finance the infrastructure of the Institute and also got land allotted for the Institute from the then Chief Minister of Gujarat.

IIMA came into existence on 11 December 1961. In 1962, IIM Ahmedabad and the National Institute of Design (NID) took up the task of designing the IIM Ahmedabad Campus and they hired American Architects Lewis Kahn and B.V. Doshi were appointed as architects for this IIM Projects. Kahn's architecture in this project is characterized by the use of exposed red bricks, extensive use of geometric shapes in the dormitories and academic blocks, and spacious corridors outside the classrooms. He skilfully combined Indian traditional and vernacular architecture and modern architecture. The complexes are very famous for their unprecedented architectural impact. Dr Sarabhai was also instrumental in developing the logo of IIMA by selecting the exquisite stone-carved lattice of the 16th-century Sidi Sayyid Window of Ahmedabad, as a symbol of the institute's excellence. On 31 March 2007 in the conference hall of IIM. Dr Vijaya ben Seth, CPMG, Gujarat Circle, India Post, released a PPC on IIM in the presence of Dr Vijaypat Singhania Industrialists and Chairman, IIM and Dr Bakul Dholakia, Professor and Director, IIM. The Cancellations were designed of three different types.
