In 1819, a devastating earthquake occurred here and the city was ruined. The earthquake was so devastating that the flow of the Indus River, which used to flow next to the fort, completely changed. After the earthquake, it started flowing in the Sindh province of Pakistan. For this reason, the trading port gradually turned into a ghost town and people started migrating in search of better facilities. Today about 700-800 people live in this town. Here the 16th-century Gurudwara is also inside this fort. Where Guru Nanak Dev Saheb Ji stayed during his second and fourth religious trips. So this place is considered to be an important place for the Sikhs. This Gurudwara houses the wooden shoes, palanquin and manuscripts of Nanak Dev Sahib and also the remains of the marks of two important heads of the Udasi sect. The Department of Posts has issued a PPC to honour the past glory of this fort, which shows the thick walls of the entrance of the fort.
