Description: Margao, known as the commercial capital of Goa, is the southern taluka of Salcete and South Goa district which is a service and transportation hub of the areas. Margao is the second largest city of Goa surrounded by fertile agricultural land, the city of Margao was once a major religious centre, with many temples and Dharamshala, the name Margao is believed to be a Portuguese word for mathagram or monastery meaning a Hindu religious centre.

In the centre of the city with many office buildings located around it and many heritage structures. The Margao Post Office, which is the head post office of Margao locally known as the “Aka Dak Ghar”.

The post office building looks like an old house with Red clay tile roofs which attracts everyone. This decades-old building still retains its ancient grandeur. The colonial-style post office building was built in 1905 and is located on the side of the park.
