Description: Loutulim is a large village of South Goa District in the State of Goa. It is located approx 10km from Margao, the HQ of South Goa District. The largest known laterite sculpture of Mirabai is present at the Big Foot Museum. The sculpture has entered 6 record books including the Limca book of records for being the fastest & longest laterite sculpture in India. This monolithic sculpture of Sant Mirabai measures 14 x 5meters and was sculpted within a period of 30 days in August of 1994 by Maendra Alvares.

Saint Mira Bai (1498-1547) was a Lord Krishna devotee and a Hindu mystic poet. The Mirabai sculpture has entered six record books including the Limca Book of Records for being the longest laterite sculpture is influenced by the Gandara school of art, In this sculpture kum kum (vermillion dot on the forehead), the band on her wrists and the paisona around her ankles give the characteristic Goan appeal particular type of ornament called fullam (golden flowers) worn by Goan Hindu women distinctly adoring Mirabai’s head. A lotus flower and the sun on the Tambora add to the mystic aura of Saint Mirabai.
