Description: The Peacock, the National Bird of India, has been an inspirational symbol for so many artists and writers throughout history. Known for its vibrant colors and graceful form, the majestic bird is characterized by its graceful blue velvety slender neck, blue-golden wings and long tail adorned with bright blue-green and bronze feathers. With its long strong brown legs, small silver beak and regal-looking crown, it holds a special place in Indian traditions due to its religious and mythological significance. It was declared the National Bird of India on 31 January 1963 and inspired by this, India Post has continuously featured the artwork of this bird as the logo of the Philatelic section and various postal items. 

When the National Philatelic Museum was started on6 July 1968, it was becoming the logo of the Museum which houses an impressive collection of India's postage stamps, which depict a variety of Indian and international themes and serve as a cultural and visual history of India. The same beautiful artwork was also used as the official logo of the World Philatelic Exhibition in 1989. The Museum Designed by Dr Anand Bardhan of the School of Heritage Research and Management at R. R. Ambedkar University, Delhi, the museum also includes an amphitheater for presentations and discussions, a library and a special section for artists and philatelists. In addition, the museum regularly conducts philatelic workshops for students, allowing them to learn about the educational and fascinating nature of stamps Additionally, visitors can purchase a variety of philatelic products and gift items from here. To mark the significance of the National Philatelic Museum in New Delhi, India Post issued a circular PPC in an artistic design of a peacock depicted in the center.
