Description: Medal Cathedral was built under the leadership of Reverend Charles Walker Posnett in 1895. In the next year, Rev. Charles Walker Posnett visited a village called Medak and started living in a bungalow. There were hardly two hundred Christians in the entire Medak region then. When he came to Medak, there was a small tiled house as a place of worship. As the number of Christians increased, they felt the need to expand the church building. Rev. Posnett soon erected a church for the Christian community within the mission compound. He started construction of the present cathedral in 1914 on 1,000 acres (4.0 km2) of land in the Husnabad area. The foundation stone of the new church was laid early in the year 1914.

During the early part of the 20th century, Medak district was suffering from famine and Rev. Posnett employed the masses to assist the suffering masses. In building a church instead of running a free kitchen. Construction work on the cathedral lasted for 10 years. The cathedral was consecrated in 1924 by Rev. Posnett to express his gratitude to God for alleviating the suffering of the people. When several Christian groups re-united as the Church of South India, the church became the cathedral church of the Medak Diocese. This cathedral is the largest among all the churches in Telangana. It was consecrated on 25 December 1924.
