Description: Sathya Gnana Sabha meaning the Hall of True Knowledge, is a temple built in 1872 by Saint Sri Ramalinga Swamigal (1823 - 1874), also known as Saint Vallalar, is located in Vadalur, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu. At that time he came there on the religious scene to educate people on the principles of religion, giving it a new form, tolerance and unity among communities practising different religions. He wanted to remove the darkness created by the confusion in the religions of that time. His hymn Arutpa which is the Samaras Shuddha Sanmargam of Vallalar, is an ideal religion that gave a new shape to human faith by accommodating humanity as a whole. This is what inspired him to establish the Dharma Shala and he built a hexagonal building which he used as a lamp to help the devotees of the Lord. To impress this truth, Vallalar built a lotus-shaped Sabha in which a lamp is lit in front of the design. This lamp and the curtains behind it are worshipped during daily puja.

The small and golden Sabha (Chirchabai and Porchabai) show the lamp offering (Deep Aradhana). A board reads, "Only vegetarians are allowed." People willing to give up non-vegetarian food come here. The Arutperunjothi Aagaval written by Vallalar is engraved here. The lamp lit by Vallalar in Sathya Gnana Sabha is still burning. There is a mirror in front of the lamp and curtains of black, blue, green, red, golden and white and multicoloured colours. When the curtains are removed, the flame can be seen through the mirror. It means that if a person removes the seven evil qualities within himself then he can see the light within himself. The image of Sathya Gnana Sabha is displayed on the PPC.
