Description: Thousand Pillar Basadi which is also known as Chandranatha Basadi or Thribhuvana Thilaka Choodmani is the most magnificient one among the 18 Jain temples of Moodbidri town in Dakshina Kannada District. Thousand Pillar Basadi was built in 1430 AD by the devotees of Moodbidri. The Basadi is like the crest jewel of the three world and hence the name Thribhuvaan Thilaka Choodamani. Pillars are in all sizes and shapes with beautiful carvings. The speciality of the pillars is that no two pillars are identical and are massive.
