Description: Dr. Sri Sri Sri Shivakumar Swamiji's childhood name was Shivanna, he was born on 1 April 1907 in Veerapura village near Magadi in the Ramanagara district of Mysore. He was the youngest child of Gangamma and Hone Gowda. His mother Gangamma died when he was eight years old. Shivanna completed his primary education in the village school. While he was still in college, he was named the successor of Udana Shivayogi Swami as the head of the Siddhaganga Math. After formal initiation, Shivanna, renamed Shivakumar, entered Viraktashrama on 3 March 1930. After the death of Shivayogi Swami on 11 January 1941, Shivanna took charge of the monastery. He was a Lingayat religious figure and humanitarian. 

He provided education to thousands of people in Tumkur district, Karnataka and South India. He was the founder of the Sri Siddaganga Education Society. He was said to be the most respected follower of the Lingayat religion. They have established educational institutions that provide traditional education in Sanskrit as well as courses in modern science and technology. He is widely respected by all communities for his philanthropic work. In recognition of his humanitarian work, Sri Swamiji was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Literature by Karnataka University in 1965. He is also known as "Nadedaduwa Devaru" (Walking God). Dr Sri Sri Sri Shivakumar Swamiji passed away at Siddaganga Mutt on January 21, 2019, He was 111 years old.
