Description: Hanuman Garhi Temple is situated in south at 1 Km from Ayodhya Railway Station. It is one of the most important temple in Ayodhya as it is customary to visit Hanuman Garhi before visiting the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. It is believed that Lord Hanuman lived at the temple site guarding Ayodhya. The hilltop temple hones a 76 staircase pathway to the entrance. Housed within the panoramic view of the surrounding hills is a 6-inch tall idol of Lord Hanuman. The main temple has an enterior cave adorned with the numerous statues of beautiful idol of Bal (young) Hanuman sitting on lap of Maa Anjani. The Hanuman Garhi is shaped like a four-sided fort, with circular ramparts at each corner, with shrines dedicated to the deity Hanuman. There are 76 steps to reach the main temple, where the sanctum sanctorum decorated with silver carvings awaits. The central chamber has three intricately designed doors leading to the inner chamber. Inside, a 6-inch idol of Hanuman depicted in his youthful (child) form, lies in the lap of his mother Anjani. A silver Tulsi rosary engraved with Ram's name adorns Hanuman. The quatrains of Hanuman Chalisa are inscribed on the walls of the temple. The temple has a victory pillar, known as Vijay Stambh. Let us know about the name-changing process of Faizabad, CPMG of UP issued a letter on December 31.12.2021, saying that Ayodhya should be written and read instead of Faizabad in all the offices related to the Postal Department, Division, Head Post Office, Sub Post Office etc. these PPCs of Hanuman Garhi, which were introduced in month of March-April 2022.
