Description: Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is a magnificent symbol of Rajputana heritage and architecture. It was constructed by Rao Jodha in 1459, the fort's most prominent structures were built by his successors during the 17th century. It is perched on the Bhakurcheria hills, rising about 122 meters above the plains, and covers an area of 486 hectares. The main gate, Jai Pol, was built by Maharaja Man Singh in 1806 to celebrate his victories over the armies of Jaipur and Bikaner. Another gate, Fattehpol, marks Maharaja Ajit Singh's triumph over the Mughals. The fort complex is home to several beautiful palaces, including Phool Mahal, Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Jhaanki Mahal, Takht Mahal, and Zenana Mahal, showcasing a blend of architectural styles from different eras. Within the fort are also two richly adorned temples, the Nagnechi Temple, dedicated to the Kuldevi, and the Chamundi Devi Temple, honouring Goddess Durga.
