Description: Jainacharya Tulsi (1914-1997) was a prominent saint of the Jain Terapanth community. He was the founder of the Anuvrata movement and the Jain Vishwa Bharati Sansthan Ladnun. He authored more than 100 books on Jainism and the Values of Humanity. Tulsi was greatly influenced by his guru, Acharya Kalugani, the ideological founder of the Shwetambar Terahpanth Sangha. At the age of 11, Tulsi took initiation into Jainism and accepted the life of a saint. He dedicated his life to human service by becoming the ninth Acharya of the Terapanth Jain religious order. He worked for humanity throughout his life through public awareness campaigns and padayatras. He gave new heights to the Terapanth Jain religious sect. Rich in personality, Acharya Tulsi rose above religion, sect and society and did incomparable work in various fields including peace, non-violence, goodwill and de-addiction and created a special place in the hearts of people of every class, religion and society. And the Shaktipeeth of sect morality is near Terapanth Bhawan, the place of Acharya Tulsi Samadhi in Gangashahar. It was here on 23 June 1997 that Acharya Tulsi breathed his last. The Tulsi Smritis here provides faith and new energy towards religion in the life of every devotee who comes and also gives the message of non-violence, peace, de-addiction and nuclear fast. Acharya had always tried for cordial cooperation among all the Jain sects.
