Description: Kibber’s Chicham Suspension Bridge, located in the Spiti Valley links to Kibber. This bridge is near the Kaza, the main town of the Spiti Valley. The bridge was built at the highest height in Asia. This connects two villages Kibber and Chicham, construction of this bridge, the journey from Kibber to Chicham will be 40 km. becomes less. This bridge is built on the 14,500-foot-high at Kunjam Pass; on the Samba-Lamba drain. The bridge is 120 M. long and 150 M. high was constructed over 16 years and The cost of this bridge was about Rs. 5.5 crore, was inaugurated in 2017. Earlier, a pulley-driven ropeway was used to connect Kibber and Chicham villages in the Valley for the residents of the area. There are two ways to reach Chicham village, one via Kaza to Kibber and the other via Manali to Chicham. After this bridge, this place has now become a popular tourist destination. The road from Kaza to Chicham Bridge is quite convenient during summers and during winters the road becomes extremely difficult due to snow and rain. This not only saves time but also saves money. After crossing the bridge, the path leads to Chandratal Lake. Which is the showcase of the Himalayas.
