The Department of Posts and Telecommunications purchased the palace and 65 acres of surrounding land. It is one of the six Postal Training Centers in India, catering to Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, and West Bengal Circles. The center provides induction training for PAs, SAs, PMs (Grade-1), and IPOs, as well as special training for marketing executives and orientation for WCTC trainers. It also offers refresher courses for PAs, SAs, and IPs/ASPs, and end-user and champion training for Finacle and Mac Camish under the IT Modernization Project, conducted by Infosys personnel. The history of the Postal Staff Training Network in India is very systematic, beginning with the establishment of the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy, now known as the Postal Staff College India (PSCI), which is the apex training institution of India Post. The college, initially functioning from Sanchar Bhavan and later from Dak Bhavan in Delhi, was shifted to its present location in Ghaziabad in 1990. Postal Staff College India (PSCI) was renamed as Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy on 01.11.2011 and trains only IPOs (Group 'A' Officers).
