The three new stamps being issued on July 15, 1975 form part of the fifth definitive series. The new stamps now being issued depict a 'Handicrafts Toy' in 20 P, 'Gliding Bird' in 50 P, and 'Himalayan Mountain' in Rs. 2 denomination.
The three new stamps being issued on July 15, 1975 form part of the fifth definitive series. The new stamps now being issued depict a 'Handicrafts Toy' in 20 P, 'Gliding Bird' in 50 P, and 'Himalayan Mountain' in Rs. 2 denomination.
Two stamps were earlier brought out on October 1, 1974 in this series, viz. 'Tiger' in 15 paise and 'Veena' in Re. 1. These are also being issued on July 15, 1975 after dropping the abbreviation of 'paise' in Hindi and English. The design, colour and other technical data of these two stamps remain unchanged. These stamps are printed by photogravure process on all over Ashoka Pillar watermarked adhesive stamp paper.- Source: Information brochure by India post issued on 15.07.1975.
